Directed by Anurag Singh, it is a must watch piece of how 10,000 Pashtun soldiers are fought by a band of 21 Sikh soldiers. It might not appear as an intelligent gamble, but the beautiful manner in which the story is brought together doesn’t disappoint.

In modern times, menstruation is not a taboo. However, not many actors would choose to go ahead with making sanitary napkins and playing lead in a film talks about issues of women. Inspired from true story of Arunachalam Muruganantham, it has been directed by R. Balki and went on to earn National Award for Best Film on Social Issue in 2019. Radhika Apte plays the lead in this movie. Catch it on Netflix, if you wish to witness journey of a man from a small village who didn’t pay heed to society and followed his values, which later lands him the world.

#5. Toilet: Ek Prem Katha

A wife leaves her husband because he doesn’t have a toilet at his home. Akshay Kumar and Bhumi Pednekar have played their characters nicely. Bhumi essays a woman with an unshakable stand who won’t compromise with her hygiene and is ready to put her marriage at risk for it. But her husband is all set to win her back and sets out against his family to build a washroom at his home. It has been directed by Shree Narayan Singh. Find it on Netflix and just chill.

A thriller drama directed by Abbas Mustan it was Akshay Kumar’s breakthrough performance opposite Ayesha Jhulka, Deepak Tijori and Sabeeha. Four friends are making a prank call to get money, but their plan takes a wrong turn. Without giving you any spoilers, it is a good watch.

An extremely hilarious portrayal of Happy Singh by Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif as his love interest, it is a lively story supported by a huge cast. Sonu Sood, Om Puri, Neha Dhupia and Kirron Kher are in pivotal roles in this laughter ride. Lies and confusion have been amalgamated in a sensical manner which makes it a good comedy, and that is rare! The story and music won’t let you down in this Anees Bazmee directorial.

An emotional story based on real events, when in 1990 Indian government carried out airlifting about 1,70,000 Indians from war hit Kuwait. Air India carried out the operation and made a world record.
